Green Racing uses motorsport competition to promote, help rapidly develop, and test cleaner fuels and more efficient vehicle technologies that manufacturers can transfer to consumer vehicles. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and SAE International, Green Racing promotes the use of renewable fuels and advanced vehicle technologies for the reduction of petroleum use and harmful emissions.
