Use Of Municipal Assistance Programs to Advance the Adoption of Solar Technologies
This 7-page document discusses approaches to facilitating solar energy installations in Madison and San Francisco, with a preview of a program in Berkeley. All programs have a technical site survey as a main component. This paper is intended to serve as a tool for municipalities and organizations examining programs to facilitate the installation of solar energy technologies at the local level no specific program design is prescribed. Readers will be informed about program design considerations, valuable lessons learned, and recommendations to consider when designing a municipal assistance program. This paper was published for the ASES conference, held in May 2009.
