Background

The Indian River Central School District is located in rural, upstate New York and covers 284 square miles. The District serves over 4,450 students across eight schools and is continuing to experience growth. The IRCSD Board of Education has committed to a 20% improvement in energy efficiency by 2020 through the adoption of aggressive energy conservation practices and dedication to the inclusion of sustainable energy in its portfolio. The District plans to integrate these practices into the educational experience to bring out the best in the next generation of citizens.
