Portfolio Energy Performance

Better Buildings Challenge Partners strive to decrease portfolio-wide source energy use intensity (EUI) and to increase the percent improvement compared to a set baseline. Cleveland Clinic's portfolio consists of more than 60 buildings and 20 million square feet. Since 2010, Cleveland Clinic has improved energy performance by 5%.

Energy Performance by Facility

Looking at the percent improvement in energy performance across all facilities can provide insight into how an organization is saving energy. Cleveland Clinic has achieved energy performance improvement in 22 facilities, with more than a 10% improvement in 10 facilities. An additional 27 facilities have experienced an increase in Source EUI. Many of these older facilities have been targeted for energy audits and potential energy efficiency improvements.

Identifying Opportunities for Improvement

Facility-level energy performance metrics, including EUI and percent improvement to date, are critical to track progress over time and identify opportunities for additional energy savings.
