Targeting 100! How Healthcare Can Meet the 2030 Challenge

Targeting 100! How Healthcare Can Meet the 2030 Challenge

September 19, 2013
1:00-2:30 PM EDT
Presenter: Joel Loveland & Heather Burpee, Integrated Design Lab, University Of Washington

Targeting 100! is a roadmap that lays the groundwork for achieving exceptionally energy efficient hospitals in the most diverse climate regions and most populous centers of the U.S. The goal of Targeting 100! is to provide detailed energy and cost models that show it is possible to reduce energy by 60% from typical operational examples to less than 100 kBtu/SF yr with very little incremental cost increase. The team will present and discuss overarching strategies to reduce energy use and increase overall indoor environmental quality inspired by low energy examples world-wide and input from industry experts. The team will present and discuss approaches, results, and suggested strategies through a digital tool developed for implementing Targeting 100! which you can use in your facilities!

Module 4: Life of the Contract

Module 4: Life of the Contract

Thursday, September 19, 2013
2:00-3:30 PM EDT

Life after acceptance of the contract and maintaining savings after the performance period begins can be a breeze or a major challenge, depending on the planning done upfront, one’s outlook toward the period of performance, and the strategies used to measure savings, among other considerations. This webcast will explore the use of ongoing commissioning, cloud technology, real-time metering and reporting, and energy dashboards in today’s performance-based contracts to help attendees learn how to set up a contract for success. In this way, this session will tie together themes from the first three sessions to show how prior efforts make a big difference for management of the project over its life.

Objectives:

  • • Learn the basics of change management and see the common ground between energy efficiency efforts and long term stewardship.
  • • Combine retrofit programs with ongoing promotion and awareness of how energy is used and its various wide-ranging impacts

Target Audience: Members of the Energy Service Performance Contracts (ESPC) team.
